Upland Bird Hunting in Texas
Upland Bird Hunting at Greystone Castle provides hunters with the opportunity to choose from several different types of bird hunting. We offer traditional quail hunting for some of the fastest flying bobwhites in Texas. For the more adventuresome hunter, choose an exciting mixed bag of pheasant hunting, quail hunting, chukar hunting, and Hungarian partridge hunting. We even offer a unique covey hunt which showcases the chukar and huns. For groups of 10 or more, Greystone Castle also offers driven European Pheasant Shoots.
Guided Upland Bird Hunts
A typical guided upland hunt at Greystone Castle takes place over 3 days, hunting in the mornings and afternoons with a midday break for lunch. Upon return to the castle after the hunt you will be met with appetizers, cold drinks, and a delicious dinner with good company.
Our upland hunts follow a traditional hunting style over quality flushing and pointing dogs. We take a maximum of 3 people per hunting group, ensuring the utmost safety during your hunt as well as undivided attention from your guide and the dogs. There are no bird limits on these hunts, so hunters can look forward to enjoying an unlimited amount of action on fast-flying birds.

Upland bird hunts include warm-up clays, transportation to/from the field, professional guides, seasoned gun dogs, bird processing, and vacuum packaging of birds. Tax, service fees, gratuity, alcohol, and ammo are not included.

Upland Hunts with Quality Bird Dogs
Greystone Castle boasts a team of outstanding bird dogs for flushing, pointing, and retrieving. Although the quality of hunting is always the main takeaway from our hunts, getting to see such great dogs in action truly adds to the upland bird hunting experience with us.
That said, we also welcome hunters to bring their own dogs on these hunts if they prefer hunting with dogs that they know. These hunts are a great opportunity for your dog to get experience in the field.
